I am a local Annapolis artist, and here are my paintings. [00:45:24] This piece is called Out of the Blue. It is a visual representation of intrusive thoughts. [00:45:29] They’re a symptom of OCD and anxiety, and have been especially pronounced during the pandemic. [00:45:36] I could be doing everyday normal things, like driving or cooking, [00:45:39] and the intrusive thoughts rip across my brain, like a scar, out of the blue. [00:45:44] Something like, what if I rear-ended this car? Or, what if the knife slips out of my hand? [00:45:50] Intrusive thoughts are always the last thing anyone wants to do, [00:45:53] and they’re not indicative of one’s inner character. [00:45:57] This next piece is called Out of the Blue. [00:45:59] This piece is called Still, and it came from multiple uses of the word. [00:46:03] As an adverb, still can emphasize something good or bad, [00:46:07] like, I am still depressed, I am still alone. [00:46:11] Or, the sun still rises, good things still happen.
